MEN4DEM researcher Vera Lomazzi (University of Bergamo) has been invited by the OECD Development Centre to join their Global Technical Advisory Group in relation to a project on masculinities. The project aims at measuring restrictive norms of masculinities and their impact on gender equality and women's empowerment. It builds on a framework developmed in the OECD publication Man Enough? Measuring Masculine Norms to Promote Women's Empowerment.
The project has launched with pilot studies in Cöte I'Ivoire and Senegal, focusing on the interlinkages between norms of masculinities, violence against women, and women's economic empowerment. Lomazzi will primarily provide input on surveys that are to be conducted.
